Evening Primrose Oil (Oenothera biennis), cold pressed, organic
Evening Primrose (Latin: Oenothera biennis) is a wild flowering plant native to North America. Historically, Indigenous peoples in North and South America used the entire plant—roots, leaves, and seeds—as food and in traditional medicine for inflammation, skin injuries, and digestive issues. In the 17th century, the plant was brought to Europe, where it was first grown as an ornamental flower and later recognized for its therapeutic potential. Because of its wide range of traditional uses, it was once called “the king’s cure-all.” The seeds of the plant contain a high concentration of oil rich in polyunsaturated fatty acids, especially gamma-linolenic acid (GLA), which is responsible for most of its proposed health benefits.
Evening Primrose Oil
Evening Primrose Oil, extracted from the seeds of Oenothera biennis, is rich in essential omega-6 fatty acids — particularly gamma-linolenic acid (GLA). Traditionally valued for supporting hormonal balance and skin health, it continues to be widely used as a nutritional supplement.
